Case-Shiller March Breakdown for San Francisco Bay Area

Following up on this morning’s national Case-Shiller home price report, here is a breakdown for the San Francisco Bay Area. Prices declined from a reading of 128.83 in December to 128.00 in January.

Bay Area home prices are now roughly back to where they were between November and December, 2000.

    That seems to agree with what I see here. I will note that REO seem to be priced by throwing darts at a board and missing.

    Interesting that, compared to national C-S data, the SF MSA has virtually no seasonality. I’m not surprised that it’s smaller than regions that have to deal with winter, but I am surprised that it’s virtually negligible.

    BTW – As we’ve all noted, averages don’t mean, much even regionally.
